Until now, consumer drones have been primarily marketed towards hobbyists and filmmakers. At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday, DJI revealed their latest drone line, the Matrice 200. These sensor-laden quadcopters are designed with commercial and industrial applications in mind.
Waterproof, industrial-grade and ready to fly in all sorts of conditions, DJI’s Matrice 200 series drones have just launched. Capable of carrying twin high-grade cameras in addition to the built-in FPV camera, they’re aimed at enterprise-level industrial inspection, mapping and surveying, and search and rescue applications in challenging weather.
The Matrice 200 Series features a dual-battery system capable of flight times of up to 32 minutes (actual flight times determined by payload, of course). In addition, the dual-battery system is also capable of heating the batteries to keep them from reaching dangerously cold temperatures when flying in sub-zero weather.
Matrice 200 Series – 3 Models
The Matrice 200 is available in 3 different Variants (M200, M210 & M210-RTK). All variants feature 17″ propellers and DJI 3515 motors.
- The M200 is only able to be flown with one single bottom facing camera.
- The M210 allows the mounting of dual bottom cameras or one top facing camera.
- The M210-RTK allows both mounting options and includes dual external RTK GPS Units for centimetre level accuracy.
